Advanced Lung Care Patient and Caregiver Guide
Chronic lung disease is a tremendous burden for the 34 million Americans who live with the disease as well as heir families and caregivers. In 2016, there were more than 2 million emergency department visits and more than 650,000 hospitalizations due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which is one of the most prevalent chronic lung diseases.
As a result, NPHI and the American Lung Association have collaborated on the Advanced Lung Care Patient & Caregiver Guide to help people living with lung disease and their caregivers learn and practice skills to prevent or manage respiratory symptoms at home while under the care of their healthcare team.
