NPHI Welcomes Kansas City Hospice

The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), the national voice for not-for-profit hospice providers, welcomes Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care as its newest member.

Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care (KCH&PC) is the largest not-for-profit hospice and community-based palliative care organization in the Kansas City area. Having served the greater area since 1980, palliative care experts cite local leadership as the foundation for keeping their focus on caring for the community with the upmost compassion.

“I deeply resonate with Kansas City Hospice’s vision that each person in their community is valued from life through death,” said Tom Koutsoumpas, NPHI CEO. “Their commitment to caring for their community, instead of maximizing their bottom line is inspiring, and I look forward to future collaborations.”

KCH&PC offers expert care, peace of mind, comfort, guidance, and hope to people who are affected by life-limiting illness or by grief. Services include traditional hospice care, palliative home health care, advanced illness support, two inpatient hospice houses, specialized pediatric care, and grief and healing support for families and individuals of all ages. Their team includes a variety of experts including board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, CNAs, art and music therapists, and grief support specialists.

“As a community based nonprofit organization, we are thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with NPHI on critical aspects of end-of-life care as well as partner with other like-minded hospices across the nation who share common values,” said David Wiley, KCH&PC President & CEO.

NPHI looks forward to working with Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care and continuing to advocate for high-quality, community-based, not-for-profit hospice, palliative, advanced illness care to patients throughout the nation.
